Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my calendar data stored?

TimeNest is designed as a local-first app. Calendar events, memos, shifts, work records, reminders, and settings are stored locally on your device by default.

Does TimeNest require an account?

No. TimeNest does not require a TimeNest account or developer-operated account sign-in.

Does TimeNest provide cloud synchronization?

TimeNest does not provide developer-operated general-purpose cloud synchronization. However, you can optionally share selected calendar content through Apple iCloud and CloudKit.

How do shared calendars work?

The calendar owner can create a shared calendar and separately choose whether to share:

The recipient can view the selected content, but cannot create, edit, or delete the owner's shared content.

What information is not shared?

Shared-calendar records do not include private memos, notifications, voice-input content, hourly rates, pay amounts, transportation fees, shift templates, advertising state, purchase state, device settings, app settings, Widget-private data, or internal holiday-subscription information.

What is required to use shared calendars?

Both devices must be signed in to Apple iCloud and have a working network connection. The recipient must accept the CloudKit sharing invitation.

Why is a shared calendar or invitation unavailable?

Please check the following:

  1. Confirm that the device is signed in to iCloud.
  2. Confirm that the network connection is working.
  3. Confirm that the recipient accepted the sharing invitation.
  4. Ask the owner to confirm that sharing is still active.
  5. Ask the owner to confirm that the intended event, shift, or work-record sharing switches are enabled.
  6. Wait briefly and try again if Apple iCloud or CloudKit is temporarily unavailable.

How can I stop or leave a shared calendar?

The owner can stop sharing from the Shared Calendar management screen. This revokes recipient access without deleting the owner's local data.

A recipient can leave a shared calendar from the same area. TimeNest removes the shared calendar's local entry and cache from the recipient's device without deleting the owner's data.

How do public-holiday subscriptions work?

TimeNest can download public-holiday data from the holiday source selected in Settings. Downloaded holiday data is cached locally on your device.

Why is my widget not updating immediately?

iOS controls when widgets refresh. If the Widget does not update immediately, open TimeNest, confirm that the relevant data is visible in the app, and wait for iOS to refresh the Widget.

How can I remove advertisements?

TimeNest provides a one-time Remove Ads purchase through Apple In-App Purchase. The purchase option is available from Settings.

How can I restore a previous Remove Ads purchase?

Open the Remove Ads screen in Settings and select Restore Purchases. Make sure that the device is using the Apple ID that originally completed the purchase.

What happens if I deny tracking permission?

TimeNest's calendar functions remain available if App Tracking Transparency permission is denied or restricted. Advertising behavior may vary according to your consent choices, region, and applicable rules.

How can I change the app language?

You can change the language from TimeNest Settings. The app supports Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Korean, and a system-language mode.

How can I report a bug?

Please email the support address above with a description of the issue, reproduction steps if possible, and screenshots if they help explain the problem.
